Eng Vs WI Cricket Series 2012
England managed to clinch the top position in test cricket ICC ratings and now they take on West Indies at home. West Indies was once the most dominating team but since the mid of 90s they have really struggled to make a mark. After World Cup 2012, we have observed improvement in the performances of West Indies cricket team. But these improved performances are seen in patches.
England Vs West Indies Test Series comprises of three test matches and following is the schedule for the same:-
England Vs West Indies 1st Test match - Lord's - May 17 to May 21
England Vs West Indies 2nd Test match - Trent Bridge - May 25 to May 29
England Vs West Indies 3rd Test match - Edgbaston - June 7 to June 11
England has done pretty well in last few years. After the Ashes success and thumping India at home, they reached the apex of ICC Test rankings and also received ICC Test Championship mace. They are also at the top of ICC T20 rankings. But recently they suffered some bad defeats which had put them under the scanner. This series would help them regain some confidence and play well in future series.
Cricketing fraternity may not expect wonders from West Indies but yes for the sake of good competition, fans would expect a good tussle between the teams. Players like Darren Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Darren Sammy will have to play major roles in the team.
