IPL 2012 Live Updates

IPL 2012 reaches its grand stage

IPL 2012 grabs more and more eyeballs and none of the team in this year's edition looks unbeatable. None of the match results are predictable and that adds to the interest. We haven't yet observed even a single team that looks purely dominating and which could top the points tally till the end. A team which is placed on the fourth position registers a win and clinches the apex of the tally. This year's edition is clearly the most open IPL we have ever seen.

One more interesting fact this year is that none of the teams are favourites at home. We have seen teams winning away and losing at home. Another aspect that makes the results unpredictable and enthralling. As far as team performances are concerned, Pune Warriors and Mumbai Indians top the charts for the time being but even they haven't been as impressive as two best teams so far. Chennai Super Kings lacks consistency because on a day they would lose badly and on the other day they pull out a thrilling win. They need to be consistent if they are looking for an IPL hat trick.

Rajasthan Royals look good under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid but same is the case with this as well. They need to improve their winning record away from home. Kings Eleven Punjab and Deccan Chargers have looked the most unimpressive teams so far. But considering the early stages of IPL, three to four wins on the trot can bring these teams in top four standings of the tally.

As far as individual performances are concerned, Ajinkya Rahane, Francois du Plessis and Owais Shah have looked brilliant with their batting. They have played risk free innings so far. As far as swashbuckling batting is concerned we have seen Morkel, Gayle, Pollard and many more to name who have hammered bowlers all over the parks.

Bowling has looked much more improved this year than the earlier editions of IPL. This year none of the matches looked one sided affairs for batsmen. Bowlers have contributed equally in the wins. Malinga, Cooper, Munaf, Bollinger, etc have topped the chart so far. Even the spinners like Muralitharan, Ojha, Hogg, etc have troubled the batsmen to a large extent.

Cricket is a game which looks complete only when all the departments fire which comprise of bowling, batting and fielding. This year's IPL has seen all these departments contributing equally in all the matches, in turn making this edition interesting and a huge success so far!
