Shahid Afridi banned for ball tampering issue: What do others have to say?

Source: Cricket Nirvana

Shahid Afridi was recently banned for two T20 matches for tampering with the ball in a ODI against Australia. After facing the ban, he claimed that that all teams tamper with the ball.

Following his claim, few other cricketers also had their views over the ball tampering issue. Pakistan ex-skippers Imran Khan and Rameez Raja supported Afridi's comment. Imran Khan said that there are many incidents where teams have been tampering with the ball through various methods. He added saying that only the sub-continental team players are punished for the offense. Rameez Raja supported the claim saying that most of the teams have tampered with the ball in the past but he didn't expect Afridi to do such an act in an international match which was really unacceptable and embarrassing.

Even Australian players Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Tait are sure that ball tampering is a widespread issue. According to them, with similar such ball tampering issue during the South Africa-England series; now there are enough evidences that ball tampering issue has to be dealt with prompt actions as it is an intolerable act for the game of cricket. Australian pacer Dirk Nannes had opposite views on this. He rejected Afridi's claims by saying that bowlers can be equally effective without tampering with the ball.
