Zimbabwe is on a tour to New Zealand for a test match, 3 ODIs and couple of T20 matches. Keeping in mind the ever fluctuating form of New Zealand and the revival stage of Zimbabwe cricket; this tour could feature an exciting competition. Before the 1st test match kicks off, a warm up match is scheduled from January 21st to 23rd at Gisborne.
This serves a good opportunity for New Zealand players to get accustomed to the conditions out there. The tour's schedule is as follows:-
21st to 23rd January 2012 - NZ XI vs Zimbabwe Warm Up match
26th to 30th January 2012 - NZ Vs Zimb test match
3rd February 2012 - NZ vs Zimb 1st ODI match
6th February 2012 - NZ vs Zimb 2nd ODI match
9th February 2012 - NZ vs Zimb 3rd ODI match
11th February 2012 - NZ vs Zimb 1st T20 match
14th February 2012 - NZ vs Zimb 2nd T20 match
Looking at the schedule we are all geared up for an exciting cricket tour. Zimbabwe has suffered a lot in last 6 years of self exile. Zimbabwe head coach, Alan Butcher believes this is a prime revival phase for Zimbabwe cricket and team is efficient enough to beat New Zealand in this series.
