England vs West Indies Cricket Series
After registering a 2-0 test series win over West Indies, England eyes an ODI series win. This is a short ODI series consisting of three matches out of which first one is already won by England. The home team is highly confident after clinching a 114 runs mammoth win in the opening ODI.
It has been a fairy tale start for Ian Bell who got an opportunity to fill the place of Kevin Pietersen as an opener. He struck a swashbuckling ton in the first ODI scoring 126 runs when he sent the ball out of the boundary 13 times. (12 boundaries and a sixer). He was well supported by Trot, Morgan, etc. England managed a good score of 288 to beat West Indies by 114 runs. Bresnan got four wickets and he was the most impressive English bowler that day.
It is likely that England will stick to the four quickies. Swann will add variety to the English bowling attack with his bowling variations and the arm ball. Meanwhile the touring team was again deceived by some good England's bowling. Facing a daunting task they failed miserably. They need to pull their socks up as its just two more games to go. A loss here at the Oval will seal series for England.
West Indies have had a disappointing tour so far here in England. They would like to clinch the remaining two ODIs for pride. They also have to play a T20 match against England on 24th June. So still a total of three international matches to go for West Indies to play for their pride and gain some consolation wins.
